slui 4 resulted in a phone activation process that I completed, apparently, successfully (no error or warning messages) but the Evaluation copy: Build 9600 text remains slui 3 resulted in an activation screen that wouldn't accept my product key (didn't like 001, etc.) \cache resulted in the "could not find" message net stop sppsvc resulted in the "service is not started" message I attempted the above steps with the following results: Windows is activated (the product key starts with 00191.)
I still have the Evaluation copy: Build 9600 listed on my desktop Yesterday (11/26), I installed the store version of Windows 8.1 I installed the Preview on my Surface Pro
I attended the MS Build conference and received a copy of Windows 8.1 Preview
I bought a Surface Pro with Windows 8 installed.
